Lumin CPAP Cleaner Review 2021

Last Updated on August 24, 2021

The Lumin CPAP cleaner effectively uses ultraviolet light to kill a large percentage of fungi, bacteria, and germs. Of course, if you use a CPAP, it’s essential to keep it clean.

Generally, bacteria, fungi, and germs love to linger around places with humidity; don’t let your CPAP machine be such a place. Lumin CPAP sanitizer is available for non-CPAP sanitization needs. It comes in an easy-to-use design and uses the UV light system which is quite effective.

Life is easier! I give it a 5 star. I simply love this product. It really cuts down on the CPAP cleaning time. I now only have to do it twice a week without using water.  It takes just 15 minutes to clean everything.

Linda R. simply says:

Great value for money. I use it for my CPAP equipment. The ultraviolet kills germs quickly. I also know that ozone voids warranties but ultraviolet doesn’t. No regrets at all for buying the Lumin.

Yet another says:

I give this device 5 out of 5. This is a super handy sterilizer for all your items. I really love it; I believe it has done a lot to keep my family safe. What are Some Downsides/ Cons of the Lumin CPAP Cleaner?

Jeff Schwandt says:

I give this Lumin CPAP cleaner 3 out of 5. Why? It disinfects well but leaves a lingering odor. I bought the product from CPAP.com. It sure does sterilize   the equipment and is easy to use.

But I noticed one drawback: The UV light generates ozone. This leaves a terribly unpleasant smell on some equipment. I found this issue particularly worse on the side hoses of my Philips- Respironics Full Face mask; the Lumin leaves a lingering odor.

It seems that this particular Lumin CPAP cleaner is approved by the FDA. I can say that we can sterilize our CPAP masks and water tanks in this device. And we ca do so in just 5 minutes. Having used it for a few months we’re quite happy with it.

Well, it seems there’s a little downside- after using it there’s some odor. But from my Google search I understand the UV light causes this. I still have to use water and vinegar at least once a month. Regardless, it’s still better than using an ozone cleaner.

This device is quick to use. Well, after each use there’s usually some smell. But it’s now easy to clean my wife’s Dream Station. But it takes some time to clean my Res MED Air Sense. Since I have 5 different pieces and you can only put in 1 at a time, it takes 25 minutes to clean. I give it a 4- star.

Robert K wrote this in September 2020:

Undoubtedly, this is a great product. However, I wish it was designed with some kind of acrylic bulb protection….this would keep things from directly touching the bulb.

In a situation where the bulb is hot and something inside (like a CPAP hose unrolling) touches the bulb, this would damage the bulb and the CPAP hose. And of course, if you touch oil with your hands and fingers and touch the bulb directly, you’d need a piece of cloth or cloth glove when installing the bulb.

RaviGold from the US wrote this in August 2020:

This is my day 3 using the product and I can say so far so good. However, I must say there isn’t a way to tell if the device is actually doing anything. At times the light goes on and lights up the stuff and then-after a short while- it beeps…

Another customer said this:

It’s so simple and easy to use this thing. And you can put your wallet, cell phone or face masks inside. However, you should know it has a limited space- the CPA mask and its tubing will fit in but you’ll need to care for the water tank separately. Fortunately, it takes only 5 minutes to put in the mask, brush your teeth and put in the tanks.

Conclusion

The Lumin CPAP sanitizer uses a safe and effective system to eliminate a large percentage of the bacteria in CPAP masks as well as the water chambers.  The device usually gets rid of bacteria in only 5 minutes. Generally, this device can be an essential supplementary regular cleaning mechanism for your CPAP accessories and supplies.

Overall, you can use this sanitizer to clean some common items like your phone, toothbrushes, keys, and even the N95 respirators. This makes the Lumin CPAP sanitizer to rank among the most versatile CPAP cleaners you can find.

Yes, since it doesn’t use harmful ozone or harsh chemicals the UV sanitizer is probably the safest disinfection device for CPAP therapy.

We certainly recommend.
